Located in the heart of Château-Thierry, a historic town in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France, the Jean de La Fontaine Museum, reopened to the public in January 2025 after several years of renovation, is dedicated to the life and work of the famous fabulist. It offers visitors a renewed immersion into his literary and artistic world, highlighting the richness of his writings and their enduring legacy across the centuries.
The museum entrusted Mazedia with the design and production of several audiovisual and multimedia installations, as well as a visitor application, to support the renewal of the permanent exhibition.

A presentation film on Jean de La Fontaine introduces the author in a sensitive and immersive way, combining voice-over narration and sound design produced by Nuits Noires.

Several multimedia flipbooks allow visitors to explore the different types of La Fontaine’s literary production, the Baron de Feuillets de Conches collection dedicated to illustrations of his fables, and the works illustrated by Jean-Baptiste Oudry.

These installations include interactive features, inviting visitors to place illustrations according to their geographical origins or to create their own drawings inspired by Oudry’s works.

Finally, a flipbook dedicated to La Fontaine’s tales and short stories completes the experience, offering an interactive approach to these lesser-known texts.

A visitor application further enhances the experience, available as a web application on visitors’ smartphones and on handheld audio guides provided by the museum. It offers audio content in both French and English, with versions designed for adults and children. The audio content was produced by Audiovisit.
