The Aube Departmental Council in France has established the Cité du Vitrail (Stained Glass City) in Troyes, basing its legitimacy on the exceptional wealth of stained glass heritage preserved within the region.
With over 1,100 stained glass windows found in 200 structures dating before the French Revolution, Aube is among the richest regions in France in this regard.
We have designed and produced:
- Multimedia Displays as part of the exhibition, shedding light on the techniques of stained glass design and production.
- A website with integrated ticket booking and an event calendar.
- A Progressive Web App (PWA) for interpreting content within the Cité and while exploring ‘the Stained Glass Route’ throughout the Aube department.
The website offers access to programs (synchronized with the PWA) and provides an introduction to the Cité.
It also includes the booking of tickets, which are subsequently digitized within the PWA.
Multiple interactive devices have been developed to explain stained glass manufacturing techniques and illustrate ‘the Stained Glass Route.’
The Progressive Web App doesn’t require installation from app stores and can be added to the smartphone’s home screen.
After visiting the museum, it allows users to explore the region and discover remarkable stained glass pieces within the local heritage.
