Located in the heart of the “Nouvelle Athènes” district in Paris, the former home of painter Ary Scheffer is a unique historical gem dedicated to the leading artistic and literary figures of the 19th century.
Après une phase de rénovation d’envergure, le Musée de la Vie romantique a rouvert ses portes le 14 février 2026.
The project aimed to restore the estate’s original elegance while modernizing the visitor experience to revive the intellectual vibrance of the Romantic era.
As part of the permanent collection’s redesign, Paris Musées commissioned Mazedia to design a suite of interactive installations. Powered by the Wezit solution, the agency developed three interactive interfaces designed to help diverse audiences engage with and take ownership of the Romantic movement.

In the gallery dedicated to Ary Scheffer, a tactile table features an interactive timeline chronicling the life of this pivotal Romantic figure

By juxtaposing the artist’s journey with a broader historical and artistic timeline, the device provides visitors with the necessary keys to understanding 19th-century creative networks and influences.

To provide access to fragile documents, a digital “leaf-through” interface allows visitors to explore the Liber Amicorum (Book of Friendship) belonging to the famed actress Rachel. This precious witness to the era’s artistic life is presented alongside digital scores by five master composers, including Frédéric Chopin, Hector Berlioz, and Charles Gounod, seamlessly bridging literary and musical heritage.

The tour is further enriched by an installation exploring the world of fantastic tales. Featuring animated illustrations, this interactive table offers a series of mini-games centered on iconic characters, providing a playful and immersive deep dive into the 19th-century imagination.
