The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is one of the world’s leading institutions dedicated to marine research, education and public awareness of ocean-related issues.

Located on the Rock and shaped by a long tradition of scientific and environmental commitment, it welcomes a wide audience eager to understand the evolution of marine exploration and the initiatives undertaken to protect the marine environment.

The Oceanographic Institute commissioned Mazedia to transform its Conference Hall into an immersive space integrated into the visitor experience.

The aim was to highlight oceanographic research and the history of the site while preserving the hall’s event-related functions and architectural integrity.

The project was carried out in collaboration with Christophe Berte for scenography, Born Scéno for furniture design and Axians for technical integration, with Mazedia overseeing all audiovisual and multimedia production.

At the heart of the installation, a monumental projection combining archival footage and motion design retraces major initiatives for ocean protection and highlights the pioneering role of the Princes of Monaco in the development of marine sciences.

Listening stations, discreetly integrated into the walls, further enrich the experience by offering sound content dedicated to oceanographic research and the history of the site, all while respecting the constraints of the space.

When the hall is closed to the public during events, an interactive table provides access to all content and offers a digital exploration of the room’s architecture, ensuring continuity of mediation.
