Biarritz, an emblematic seaside city on the French Basque coast, is renowned for its 19th-century architectural heritage and its long cultural and maritime history. To highlight this rich identity for both residents and international visitors, the city wished to offer a digital tool enabling everyone to rediscover its cultural, natural and urban heritage.

Mazedia designed the mobile application Imagine Biarritz, Balades et Histoire(s), a native app developed with the Wezit Mobile solution, created to make the city’s heritage accessible and multilingual.
The application offers geolocated thematic tours — Art Deco, sculptures, historical walks, nature, coastline and surfing — enriched with local testimonies, archival photographs and anecdotes.

A selection of key landmarks, such as the Lighthouse, the Hôtel du Palais or the Côte des Basques, is presented through multimedia content and quizzes that invite users to test their knowledge.
A dedicated section retraces the entire history of the city, from its origins as a fishing port to its imperial development, complemented by podcasts featuring authentic voices from local residents.

Designed to be accessible and available in multiple languages, the app also includes a current events section listing ongoing exhibitions, outings and cultural activities.
