The Maison des Mathématiques et de l’Informatique (MMI), located in Lyon and part of the University of Lyon, is a science outreach centre dedicated to exploring mathematics, computer science and their real-world applications.
It develops exhibitions, workshops and public events designed to make these disciplines accessible to families, school groups and a broad general audience.
For the exhibition “Ça résonne”, an immersive and playful exploration of sound, the MMI entrusted Mazedia with the design and production of the four interactive devices that structure the visitor experience.

The devices translate demanding scientific concepts — mathematical representation of sound, computational analysis of vibrations, generation or modification of signals — into intuitive experiences accessible from age 12.

They combine physical manipulation with digital interfaces, encouraging active understanding through experimentation, observation and exploration.

Each module addresses a complementary aspect of the sonic phenomenon, offering a progressive approach that illustrates both the underlying physical mechanisms and their digital applications.

Together, they form a coherent pathway in which science and sensory experience intersect, inviting visitors to explore sound differently through gesture, visualization and listening.
