The Cité de l’Espace, located in Toulouse in southern France, is one of Europe’s leading science centres dedicated to space exploration and public outreach. It offers exhibitions, simulators and immersive experiences designed to help visitors understand the challenges and milestones of human and robotic space missions.
LuneXplorer is a unique immersive experience in Europe, simulating the launch and lunar landing of a mission through a centrifuge capable of reproducing up to 2 g, combined with a full sequence of preparation, briefing, mission and capsule debriefing. Mazedia contributed to the project by developing the device’s user interfaces.

These interfaces communicate in real time with the centrifuge’s sensors to display a control dashboard and synchronise videos simulating the capsule environment.

They support each stage of the experience, ensuring consistency between scientific mediation phases and immersive sequences.

The data collected during the session is aggregated to generate a personalised mission report sent to each participant.

Particular attention was paid to performance, reliability and the robustness of data exchanges in a technically demanding environment.
